During our initial meeting we develop a clear direction and scope for your project. We’ll get to know each other, your house, your needs, and your vision. I’ll ask questions. planning

I visit your home to gather more detailed information and take measurements of your space. We'll have more discussions about potential design concepts. I'll develop several layout options that take considerations like size, proportion, and function, as well as specific concepts that may have been discussed. Good design is as much calculation as inspiration. Understanding what won't work is as important as knowing what will. 

The goal of this Planning Phase, it to fine tune and ultimately select ONE layout design concept.

 

design development

Now that a Layout has been selected, we can begin adding all the layers of pretty. Depending on the project type, design services can include specifications of the following:

  • Furniture and fabrics               
  • Soft and hard floor and wall coverings   
  • Lighting
  • Custom cabinetry and mill-work
  • Surface specifications (counters, splash, paint...)
  • Mechanical specifications (plumbing, appliances)
  • Budgeting, costing and bidding support will be discussed. 
  • Integration with Architects, Engineers and Builders.
  • Scaled plans and elevations for Project Administration

The goal of this Design Development Phase is to fully develop your project and get it prepped and ready for execution in the Project Administration Phase. 

purchasing / project administration

For a full service experience, we offer purchasing and administration services for all aspects of the project. It may be appropriate for me to make site visit throughout the duration of your project to help ensure that installations meets the design goals and intentions. Especially with home renovation, there are often aspects that come to light during construction that was unforeseen. Making sure your chosen team understands the design goals will help us pivot the appropriate way when things come up... and they do!
